Bio

Arise Tanzania is a dedicated non-governmental organization (NGO) focused on promoting menstrual hygiene awareness and ending gender-based violence (GBV). We strive to create a society where every individual can live with dignity and without fear, particularly addressing the challenges faced by women and girls. #### Our Mission Our mission is to empower communities through education, advocacy, and creative engagement, fostering a safer and more inclusive environment for all. #### What We Do 1. **Menstrual Hygiene Awareness:** - We conduct comprehensive educational programs to break the stigma surrounding menstruation. - Through interactive sessions, workshops, and school programs, we provide essential information on menstrual health management. - We advocate for the availability of reusable pads and work towards making menstrual products freely accessible. 2. **Ending Gender-Based Violence:** - We run campaigns and challenges, such as 'Me Against Gender-Based Violence,' where community members raise their hands to stop GBV. - Our initiatives include art and creative expression to highlight the issues and impact of GBV. 3. **Community Engagement:** - We engage with the community through street challenges and sessions, like 'Let's Talk Period,' where we interview people to understand their challenges and educate them on menstrual hygiene. - Our approach includes using art, music, and creative activities to spread awareness and foster dialogue. #### Our Impact - **Education:** We educate and empower young girls and women, ensuring they have the knowledge and resources to manage their menstrual health confidently. - **Advocacy:** We advocate for policy changes and support initiatives that promote gender equity and the protection of women and girls. - **Support:** We provide menstrual hygiene products to schools and communities in need, ensuring no girl misses out on education due to a lack of resources. At Arise Tanzania, we believe in the power of community and creativity to drive social change. By combining education, advocacy, and innovative engagement strategies, we are committed to building a future where menstrual hygiene and gender-based violence are no longer barriers to a thriving society.
